In Pirkei Avos 4:1 (Ethics of our Fathers) we learn Eizehu ashir hasameach b'chelko - Who is wealthy? One who is happy with his lot. I have been blessed with 30 years of a pretty good lot! In trying to decide what to name this blog, which will be a chronicle of things that make me happy, I landed on Sameach b'chelko for this very reason!

Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man

YS has really become quite the artist over the past few weeks. He spends most of his free time coloring, cutting, writing, and drawing. Here are three pictures he made yesterday. You can see he sometimes adds his own drawings (sun, clouds, etc.) to the coloring book pages. He even manages to stay in the lines most of the time!

His new-found hobby is good for everyone involved.
He develops his artistic skills and has an outlet for his creativity, I get fancy pictures to hang on my wall at work, and AM gets uninterrupted time with our gigantic stash of trains!
